Warehouse Operative / Driver

Smiths Hire are the Northwest’s Largest Independent Equipment Hire company with 17 Hire It Centres located across the region. We supply all types of customers in all types of business, specialising in many types of equipment, including; plant and machinery to the construction and industrial sectors.

Our Burnley Depot is fast paced and responsive meaning you will need to be flexible within the working day. No day is the same in this role. The depot has a very tight knit team so teamwork is essential but working on your own initiative is also vital.

This role does need flexibility, your main duties will be: Warehouse Operative / Driver but also assisting with any other duties

Your responsibilities will include;

  • Washing of Equipment in preparation for hire and basic maintenance jobs.
  • Assisting drivers and customers loading and unloading of vehicles.
  • Warehouse organisation and security.
  • Notifying manager of damaged, dirty or misused equipment.
  • Learning other job roles within the depot so you can assist when necessary.

Working hours; Monday to Friday: 08:00am – 17:00pm and Saturday: 08:00am to 12:00pm on a rotational basis.
