We love working with local schools in the Blackpool community, especially when they need a little extra help. Anchorsholme Primary Academy in Thornton were looking to improve their outdoor space, with the addition of planting areas designed to get the children involved in understanding agriculture and to make the place look a little greener. In order to achieve this the staff and the children’s parents came together with the support of tools from Smiths Hire to get the job done.
We provided free of charge wheel barrows, shovels, sledge hammers to make the job easier. The school arranged for BBC Lancashire to cover the event on local radio to broaden awareness of the scheme. It was a great day and everyone involved can’t wait to see the results come summer.
