We offer our customers a comprehensive maintenance and repair service across all new and second hand machines. By offering this service, our customers know their machines are in the best possible hands, ensuring they are fit for purpose at all times and fully comply with the legal requirements of LOLER. Smiths Hire offer a service and maintenance option called Service Protect under one yearly fixed fee, based on regular servicing and LOLER inspection programme.

Smiths Hire Service and Maintenance Programme:

Did you know? Machine owners need to be aware that powered access machines need to be thoroughly inspected every six months under the LOLER (the Lifting Operation Lifting Equipment Regulations). These tests need to be carried out by an approved CAP fully qualified engineer to ensure machines are safe and fit for purpose. Smiths Hire have a team of fully qualified engineers who carry out these tests on a regular basis across each of our 11 North West depots or at your premises if required.

Our Service Protect programme includes:

  • 2 x LOLER tests per year
  • 2 x Comprehensive Services (which includes all necessary consumables)
  • Breakdown Cover (optional additional fee based on normal working hours)
  • Any parts provided at cost
  • Certification and documentation provided
